20-year-old lady butchers boyfriend

A 32-year-old man from Nyinahin in the Ashanti Region is currently fighting for his life in the hospital after his girlfriend allegedly attacked him with a knife.

Reports indicate that a minor misunderstanding arose between the victim, Atsu Maxwell, and the suspect, identified as 20-year-old Yaa Esther.

What started as a verbal disagreement escalated dramatically when Yaa Esther, armed with a sharp knife, attacked Atsu.

Maxwell sustained severe injuries, suffering from stab wounds to his head, chest, and shoulder, resulting in significant blood loss.

He lost consciousness and was swiftly transported to the hospital for urgent medical care.

Atsu Zorka, the victim’s brother, alerted the Nyinahin District Police, who promptly responded to the scene and detained the suspect for questioning.

“On 30/07/2025 at 0845 hours, Atsu Zorka, aged 31, of Akomfre, reported that, at about 0700 hours same day, a misunderstanding ensued between his brother Atsu Maxwell, aged 32, and his girlfriend Yaa Esther, aged 20, in their room at Nyinahin.

“That Yaa Esther inflicted knife wounds on Atsu Maxwell, and he was rushed to Nyinahin Community Hospital for treatment.

“On receipt of the report, police proceeded to the said facility and met victim Atsu Maxwell on admission at the emergency ward with a deep cut on the head, chest and left shoulder, being attended to by Doctors,” the police report disclosed.

Upon arrival at the hospital, police found Atsu Maxwell admitted to the emergency ward with serious injuries. He remained unconscious at the time of their visit, preventing them from obtaining a statement.

The police documented the injuries through photographs and issued a medical form for endorsement on behalf of the victim.

The Nyinahin District Police confirmed that Yaa Esther has been taken into custody and that the knife involved in the attack has been recovered as part of their ongoing investigation into the incident.
