2026 World Cup qualifiers: I’ll probably score against Comoros as well – Inaki Williams
Black Stars forward Inaki Williams is eyeing back to back goals for Ghana after breaking his jinx against Madagascar.
In the Black Stars’ opening 2026 World Cup qualifier against Madagascar at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday evening, the Athletic Club player scored the game-winning goal in the 95th minute.
There had been discussions regarding possibly benching the 29-year-old after he failed to score in 11 games for Ghana.
In the crucial moment against the Barea, Iñaki Williams delivered by nodding in a flawless cross from Gideon Mensah to give Ghana a much-needed three points.
Speaking after the game, Inaki was full of praise for Gideon Mensah for his role in ending his wait for a Ghana goal.
“The Almighty made this possible for me. All my teammates are calling me ‘Kwaku the Baller’. I’m so happy. I can only say thank you. Gideon Mensah put in a good cross and I scored the goal. I’m so happy.
“Comoros is the next game and probably I am going to score another goal to put Ghana on top.”
Ghana will play away to Comoros on Tuesday, November 21 at the Moroni Stadium with kickoff at 4 pm.
