25-year-old farmer shot dead in brutal attack

A 25-year-old man, Kwame Asamoah, popularly known as Kwame Ketewa, has been shot dead by an unknown assailant while returning from his farm in Akyem Dokyi-Tetekasom, near Akyem Takyiman in the Kwaebibirem Municipality of the Eastern Region.

Information gathered indicates that Kwame had left home on Monday morning to collect palm fruits for his father.

Subsequently, Esther Adumea, a farmer whose land shares a boundary with the deceased, recounted that she was preparing to carry her farm produce home when she suddenly heard a gunshot.

Fearing for their safety, Esther who was with her son decided to stay on the farm for a while before heading back.

Upon their return, they discovered Kwame Ketewa lying in a pool of blood, with no sign of the suspect.

Chief Inspector Godsway, the station officer in Akyem Takyiman, has since transferred the body to the Kade Government Hospital.

Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation to identify and arrest the perpetrator.
