25-year-old man brutally assaults 53-year-old fiancée over goat meat

A 53-year-old woman, identified as Grace Mensah, is battling for her life at St Francis Hospital in Assin Fosu, located in the Central Region, after her 25-year-old fiancé, Arhinful, allegedly attacked her over goat meat.

The incident occurred on May 7, 2025, at her fiancé’s residence in Assin Wurakese during an altercation.

The victim’s daughter, Priscilla Boakye, narrated that Arhinful had brought home goat meat for Grace to cook, but upon returning with friends, he expressed dissatisfaction with the amount of meat in the food, leading to a heated argument.

During the altercation, Arhinful reportedly grabbed Grace’s throat and subjected her to severe beatings, resulting in a leg fracture on the spot.

The victim’s daughter stated that her mother had a leg wound that was nearly healed, but the suspect’s actions in stepping on the same leg affected her greatly.

She further stated that a passerby intervened to prevent the situation from escalating, as Arhinful allegedly would have continued to harm her mother without such intervention.

She further revealed that Arhinful, who is a known smoker and alcoholic, dropped her mother at her residence and absconded.

Till now, Grace Mensah has been unable to speak.

According to Priscilla, this is not the first instance of physical abuse her mother has suffered at the hands of Arhinful, despite their age difference.

She attributed her mother’s reluctance to end the relationship to Arhinful’s perceived ability to satisfy her sexual needs, citing his youthful energy.

The suspect has still not been arrested, as he is currently on the run.

The family is appealing to the police to launch a manhunt for the suspect to face justice.
