A total of 14 cases are classified as severe but not on ventilators. However, four are critical, and the patients are surviving on ventilators.

The Director of Public Health at the GHS, Dr Badu Sarkodie, said the figures were records as at June 16 during Thursday’s Weekly Press Briefing.

As at June 15, the country had recorded 12, 590 cases with 397 news cases and active infections of 8,114.

This implies an upsurge of about 3.5% and a total of 736 within a period of 24 hours from June 15 to June 16.

Meanwhile, theghanareport.com has discovered, with evidence, that the Ghana Health Service (GHS) is under-reporting the number of deaths recorded.

But health officials have discounted those claims with suggestions that several processes are undertaken to audit the figures before releasing to the public, hence the disparities.
