A man identified as Malcom Fraizer, also known as Nii Djan, has been arrested by the Ghana Police Service for allegedly killing another man in a dispute linked to a past relationship.

The incident, which occurred on April 1, 2025, was reportedly triggered by Fraizer’s discovery that the victim was dating his ex-wife.

Police say Fraizer confessed to engaging in a physical fight with the deceased, which escalated fatally. His arrest on July 1 was made possible through digital intelligence and the circulation of a video online, which helped investigators locate his hideout.

The National Operations Directorate’s Intelligence Unit led the operation, using digital footprints to track Fraizer.

“This was a deeply personal conflict that spiralled into tragedy. We acted swiftly to ensure justice is served,” said a senior officer involved in the investigation.

Domestic violence continues to be a pressing issue in Ghana, with emotional disputes often leading to irreversible consequences. While legal proceedings are underway, Fraizer remains in custody and is cooperating with investigators.

Under Ghanaian law, murder is a capital offence. Although the death penalty remains on the books, executions have not been carried out in recent years.
