Wendy Shay hits back at critics over BBL allegations; says her curves are natural

Ghanaian singer, Wendy Shay, has addressed claims that she had plastic surgery to improve her appearance.

In a post published on her X page on July 10, 2025, the “Too Late” singer voiced her displeasure with people assuming that her voluptuous figure is the consequence of a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) treatment.

Wendy wondered why so many people automatically assume that any curvy African lady must have had surgery.

Before BBLS gained popularity on the continent, she questioned whether people actually thought African women didn’t have naturally curved bodies.

She explained that she has just put on weight in the “right places,” which could be the reason why some people are now blaming her body for the surgery.

Wendy emphasised that her body is completely natural and added that it’s not her fault people are only noticing it now.

She also recalled being bullied for her appearance when she first entered the music industry, suggesting that this may have caused some to overlook her natural figure at the time.

“So y’all want to tell me before BBL Africans didn’t have a natural shape like mine? What’s with this BBL tag… Is it because I have gained at the right places? Y’all should get a life and stop being naive. What you are seeing is 100% natural, and it is not my fault y’all didn’t realise it earlier because of the Bullying when I stepped in the game.

“I’ve got it since! Clearly, humans will always have something to say. It’s either your booty is too big, too small, or too fake. Mind your business! Africa, Wake Up!” Wendy Shay wrote.
