Recruitment and enlistment into GAF not for sale – Defence Minister

The Minister for Defence, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has made it clear that recruitment into the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) is not for sale and will never be sold under his leadership.

Following an extensive 11-hour tour of military facilities under the 1 Garrison, Dr. Omane Boamah indicated that the hiring process will strictly adhere to principles of merit and fairness.

‎“Let me repeat: recruitment and enlistment into the Ghana Armed Forces is not for sale and will not be for sale under my Eagle Eyes watch,” he declared.

During his visit, Dr. Omane Boamah inspected key installations at the Eastern Naval Command, where he observed how troops are actively engaging in the preservation of Ghana’s marine environment.

He also toured Michel Camp, where he witnessed soldiers expertly neutralising explosive devices, a testament to their professionalism and courage.

At the Army Recruits Training School (ARTS), Dr. Omane Boamah assessed the preparations for the recruitment and training of 12,000 new personnel for both ARTS and the Ghana Military Academy.

He expressed profound gratitude to commanders, including Commodore Asiedu-Larbi, and acknowledged the dedication of all personnel.

‎“To our troops, I say your service is deeply valued. We are working hard to protect your welfare and ensure your safety,” he said, calling on all Ghanaians to support the Armed Forces in building a stronger nation.
