A/R: Kusasi Chief shot dead by unknown assailants
The Kusasi Chief of the Ashanti Region and Chief of the Kadi Divisional Area in Binduri, Abdul-Malik Azenbe, has been shot dead by unknown assailants.
The heartbreaking incident occurred on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at his residence near the Asawase F-line community centre around 8:40 pm.
According to eyewitnesses, two men arrived on a motorbike in the evening, with one wielding an AK-47 rifle and opened fire on the chief before fleeing the scene.
Azenbe, who was enskinned as Kadi Naaba three months ago, was rushed to the Manhyia District Hospital and later transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe, visited the bereaved family upon hearing the incident later in the evening.
The police have assured the family that a thorough investigation will be conducted to bring the perpetrators to justice.
This comes at a time when national mediation efforts, led by His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and supported by the government, are underway to bring lasting peace and stability between the Kusasi and Mamprusi people.
