Afia Schwarzenegger alerts Tyler Perry over alleged piracy of new film in Ghana

Outspoken Ghanaian media personality Afia Schwarzenegger has set social media ablaze after posting what appears to be a voice note directed at acclaimed African-American filmmaker Tyler Perry, accusing several Ghanaian media outlets of illegally screening his latest movie, Straw.

The viral Instagram screen recording, which has rapidly circulated within Ghanaian digital spaces, features Afia’s distinctive voice making a direct appeal to Perry.

She introduces herself with her trademark bravado—“My name is Afia Schwarzenegger; I own Ghana”—before expressing gratitude for the new film and issuing a warning about its alleged unauthorised broadcast in Ghana.

“I know the people who are showing it illegally, and I can give you their names,” Afia claims in the voice note, though she stops short of naming the alleged perpetrators in the public clip.
