Alpha Beta Wins Best AS/A Level School Award

Alpha Beta Christian College has received the coveted Best AS/ A Level School Award at the British Council Partner Schools Awards Ceremony, which was held at the Accra Town Hall on Friday, October 15, 2022.

In addition, the esteemed school won 6 other Academic Excellence Awards for their Students.

Mr. McMahon, the Deputy British High Commissioner, congratulated the award winners, school directors and teachers.

Out of the 78 British Council Partner Schools in Ghana, seven schools featured in a total of 36 awards given out to 22 students.

Alpha Beta won in the following categories:

1. STAR PERFORMER AWARD -IGCSE BIOLOGY (SELORM TETTEH 97%)
2. STAR PERFORMER AWARD -IGCSE SOCIOLOGY (KENSEMA AMFO SACKEY 95%)
3. STAR PERFORMER AWARD- GCE AS & A LEVEL CHEMISTRY (ERIC OWURAKU ASARE 94%)
4.STAR PERFORMER AWARD- GCE AS & A LEVEL INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (ERIC OWURAKU ASARE 94%)
5. STAR PERFORMER AWARD- GCE AS & A LEVEL PHYSICS (ERIC OWURAKU ASARE 96%)
6. BEST GCE AS & A LEVEL STUDENT (ERIC OWURAKU ASARE)
7. BEST GCE AS & A LEVEL SCHOOL

This year marks the 10th time the British Council Awards for Partner Schools have taken place. Alpha Beta has been awarded five times as the Overall Best IGCSE/ AS & A Level School.

The school’s management attributes the incredible performance of its IGCSE and A-level students to the Adinkrahene Leadership Program, which began in 2014.

The School Director, Dr. Naomi Adjepong, who recently received the 2022 ‘40 under 40 Award for Education’ thanked God for the awards and said, “The Adinkrahene Leadership Program is a unique program run by Alpha Beta Christian College which seeks to consciously develop confident, creative and competent African leaders for the 21st century by ensuring that students gain the inspiration, knowledge, exposure and skills they need to succeed as future leaders’’.

In attendance at the event were Mr. Keith McMahon – Deputy British High Commissioner; Mr. Sean Harris – British Council Business Development Manager and Country Lead for Ghana/ Senegal and Sierra Leone; Mr Chikode Onyemerela – British Council Country Director for Ghana and Cameroon, Efua Asiedu – British Council Senior Manager for West Africa, and Directors and Students from the various Partner Schools in Ghana.
