Amakye Dede, Kojo Antwi , other legendary celebrities storm Kwadwo Akwabaoh’s funeral

Renowned Ghanaian musicians Amakye Dede, Kojo Antwi, Rex Omr, Akosua Agyapong, members of GHAMRO, actress Nana Ama McBrown, and other celebrities over the weekend joined the family of the late musician Kwadwo Akwabaoh to bid him farewell.

The funeral took place at Trede in the Ashanti Region.

His son, musician Akwaboah Jnr, his wife and other family members were also captured in videos and pictures mourning their beloved.

There were performances from the late master Kwabena Akwaboah’s band, Maame Tiwaa from the renowned Yaw Sarpong and the Asomafo group, Nana Ama Mcbrown, Nicholas Omane Acheampong and others to celebrate the late legend.

Kwadwo Akwaboah passed away at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at age 60.

The news of his death was announced by his son Akwaboah Jr. on his Facebook page.

The late Kwadwo Akwaboah was a passionate organist and a singer from the early 90s known for his popular song, ‘Awerekyekyere’.

The veteran highlife legend and record producer went blind in the middle of his career whilst living in Amsterdam, Holland. He later moved to Ghana to join his family.
