Antoine Semenyo has paid tribute to Illia Zabarnyi following the Ukraine defender’s big-money move from Bournemouth to Paris Saint-Germain.
Zabarnyi’s £57.1million transfer, confirmed on Monday, makes him the third defensive departure for the Cherries this summer, following Dean Huijsen’s switch to Real Madrid and Milos Kerkez’s move to Liverpool. The exits have brought Bournemouth’s transfer income to over £150m in the current window.
In response to Zabarnyi’s farewell message on Instagram, Semenyo wrote: “[The] pleasure is ours brother,” accompanied by two heart emojis, signalling his respect and affection for his departing teammate.
The Ghanaian forward, who recently signed a new long-term deal at the Vitality Stadium, is one of the few key players to remain as manager Andoni Iraola faces a major rebuild ahead of the new Premier League season.
