Asante Kotoko to pay $9000 as compensation to sacked coach Seydou Zerbo
Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko will pay $9000 as compensation to sacked Burkinabe coach Seydou Zerbo.
The Porcupine Warriors mutually severed ties with the Burkinabe trainer on Monday over an unimpressive performance this season.
According to reports in the local media, the record Ghana Premier League holders will pay three months salaries to Zerbo who was sacked over unimpressive performance.
Per the contract between the coach and the club, Zerbo will only not receive compensation if he is sacked when the club fails to win a game in four official matches.
Despite losing eight games this season, the Burkinabe trainer managed to win at least a match in every four games.
Zerbo, who joined the club before the start of the season managed 9 wins, 7 draws and 6 defeats after 22 matches in the Ghana Premier League.
Kotoko are currently 7th on the league table with 34 points after 22 matches, having a game at hand.
Meanwhile, the club have appointed youth team coach Abdul Gazale to take charge until a new coach is announced.
