Asante Kotoko’s defender Wahab Adams hands in transfer request – Reports
Asante Kotoko’s hard-tackling defender Wahab Adams has handed in a transfer request to the Kumasi-based club for an imminent departure.
According to reports, the defender has officially written to the management of the club to terminate his contract citing lack of playing time, and would like to look elsewhere to get more playing time.
Wahab whose contract with the Porcupine Warriors runs till 2022 has been linked with a move to his former club Aduana Stars and he is relishing a return before the close of the transfer window.
The 27-year-old guardsman has made only four appearances for Asante Kotoko in the ongoing Ghana Premier League season.
He is struggling to find a place in the starting lineup of the Kumasi-based club at the backline with the presence of Abdul Ganiyu, Mubarik Yusif, etc.
However, it will be a big blow for coach Johnson Smith should Wahab’s request be granted by management as he will be left with only a few centre-backs in the team.
