Atalanta, Milan maintain unbeaten run since Serie A since Serie A return

A.C. Milan registered a 2-1 away victory over Sassuolo F.C. whiles Atalanta F.C. held down the Bologna F.C. side with a single goal for both sides to maintain their unbeaten run.

Both A.C. Milan and Atalanta have been in the most impressive form since the return of the Serie A league from the three-month break due to the global coronavirus pandemic.

Atalanta has recorded eight wins and two draws since their return, with one of their draws being against the reigning Juventus F.C. who have won the league continuously for the past 9 years.

AC Milan has also been in superb form after securing  7 wins and 3 draws so far and marking their fifth game with a spectacular win over the old ladies of Juventus F.C.

The fifth game, which went on in the Giuseppe Meazza stadium, the home of A.C. Milan ended in a 4-2 comeback of the red and blacks of A.C. Milan.

Adrien Rabiot scored a late opener in the first half to give Juventus the edge over the red and blacks of A.C. Milan.

The indefatigable Cristiano Ronaldo also increased the tally in the 53rd minute to give the old ladies of Juventus.

However, the iconic former L.A. galaxy star, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, gave hope to his team after scoring a penalty caused by a handball by the tough defender, Leonardo Bonucci in the 62ND minute.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was substituted five minutes after converting a goal from the spot-kick, the complacent Juventus side admitted 3 more goals from the Red and Blacks.

This loss was the first loss of Juventus after the coronavirus break and also a vindication for the A.C. Milan side after they were defeated by a lone goal the last time they travelled to the Allianz Arena of the old ladies.

Atalanta has surprisingly risen above the likes of Inter Milan, Lazio, Roma and Napoli after the long break.

They have clinched the second spot on the Serie A table which is well deserved due to their consistent and splendid performance over the season.

A.C. Milan currently sits at the 6th position of the table and if they exhibit more resilience in their last 3 games they can possibly land a spot in the top 4 of the Serie A table to earn a UEFA Champions League qualification.
