To commemorate the International Day for Women and Girls in Science, the Ayawasa North Municipal Education Office has organized an enriching field trip for over 100 girls from selected schools to the Entrance Pharmaceutical and Research Institute.

Led by Director Emmanuel Kofi Tachic and district officials, the trip aimed to provide hands-on exposure to industrial processes and illustrate the practical application of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) principles.

Upon arrival, Human Resource Officer Albert Kwartung Acheampong warmly welcomed the group and explained the roles of various departments within the pharmaceutical company.

The girls, from Senior High Schools (SHS) and Junior High Schools (JHS), were then guided through the facility by Utility Supervisor Prince Asare, exploring sections such as air and water purification, steam production, and quality control.

At the Quality Control Section, Senior Chemist Isaac Aidoo emphasised the importance of maintaining stringent quality standards for all medicines before they enter the market.

The girls drew immense inspiration from General Manager Dr. Evelyn Ofei, who generously shared her academic journey and offered valuable advice on how to replicate her success.

This insightful experience not only enhanced the girls’ learning but also sparked interest in pursuing STEM-related careers.

By providing a platform for young girls to engage with STEM professionals and witness real-world applications, the trip inspired and empowered them to pursue their passions in science and technology.
