Former President Barack Obama was unexpectedly referenced during testimony in the ongoing federal trial against music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs.
The mention came during a dramatic courtroom appearance by Diddy’s former personal assistant, David James, who described a disturbing culture of drug use and sexual misconduct surrounding the rapper.
While James clarified that Obama was never present at any of Diddy’s infamous “freak off” parties, he testified that some partygoers consumed pills shaped like the former president’s face. The comment was made during broader testimony describing widespread drug use among celebrity guests, including ecstasy and Percocet.
James also described Diddy’s alleged daily drug habits, claiming the music mogul routinely consumed Percocet during the day and switched to ecstasy at night.
He said Combs carried a bag filled with pills, including Advil, Tylenol, Viagra, water pills for weight loss, and medication purportedly used to boost sperm count.
The former assistant grew emotional on the stand, recounting disturbing details about his time working for Combs.
He alleged that he was regularly tasked with organizing “freak off” sex parties and claimed that Diddy once filmed him taking ecstasy at one such event, later threatening to use the footage as blackmail.
James recalled that when he began his employment, a Bad Boy Entertainment executive warned him that his role was to serve Combs above all else.
“She pointed at a picture of Mr. Combs on the wall and said, ‘This is Mr. Combs’ kingdom. We’re all here to serve him,’” he told the court.
Other celebrities have also been drawn into the trial. Singer Usher was named in testimony from Dawn Richards, former member of girl group Danity Kane and once a close friend of Cassie Ventura, Diddy’s former partner.
Richards claimed Usher was present during a 2010 dinner where Diddy allegedly assaulted Ventura in a private room at a restaurant, an incident also attended by singer Ne-Yo and music executive Jimmy Iovine.
According to Richards, Diddy punched Ventura in the stomach during the meal. She testified that Ventura “immediately bent over” in pain and that “no one intervened.”
Richards further alleged that as the couple left the restaurant, Diddy grabbed Ventura by the neck and slapped her in the mouth.
Richards, who worked with Diddy in the early 2000s, also claimed she witnessed multiple incidents of physical abuse toward Ventura. She described Diddy punching, choking, and dragging the singer, and recounted a 2009 incident in which he allegedly struck her with a skillet of eggs.
“He said you could go missing, that we could die,” Richards testified, describing threats she claimed Diddy made following one of the assaults.
Sean Combs has pleaded not guilty to federal charges including racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
