Be versatile with your style -Minister K Anani to Gospel acts
Fast rising contemporary Gospel artiste Minister K Anani is encouraging his colleagues to be versatile with their music presentations to appeal to a larger audience.
He pointed out that gone were the days when Gospel singers stuck to a particular style of delivery but times are changing and listeners were getting sophisticated with what to consume.
As such, contemporary Gospel singers should not be condemned for going with new styles since the goal still falls is in line with using music as a tool to positively change lives.
“I quite remember that back in the days when some young Gospel artistes started rap or urban Gospel music, they were criticised for being carnal but with consistency, the style gained roots and eventually got accepted in the sector.
“Today, the likes of Akese Brempong, who has strong leanings towards Reggae has large following so this means that we should explore other music presentation since the audience love variety,” he said.
Many years of a growing desire to be a catalyst for change in his generation came to light when he started commercial music.
Since then, the artiste who takes a lot of inspiration from the likes of OJ, Joe Mettle, Kofi Owusu Peprah has released a number of songs including Sunsum Boafo, Nkakra Nkakra, You Are the Lord and M’ala Lala.
Minister K Anani who describes himself as a Gospel singer, songwriter and composer and instrumentalist is currently promoting his latest song, Amazing One released on Monday, October 17.
Amazing One produced by Samuel Agyemang and mixed and mastered by Dave Jazzy takes inspiration from Psalm 96:4 by extolling the virtues of God and His wondrous works.
“The song is about the beatitudes of God and the awesome fulfilment of scriptures. It came from a place of prayers and I know that it will be a blessing to listeners,” he stated.
