Ghanaian winger Bernard Tekpetey has undergone successful surgery in Austria after suffering an injury during Ludogorets’ UEFA Champions League qualifier against Qarabag.
The 26-year-old was forced off the field after a collision with Kevin Medina and underwent an operation led by renowned specialist Dr. Paul Stampfl.
Tekpetey will spend a week recovering in Vienna before returning to Razgrad but faces a potential months-long absence.
His injury comes as a significant blow to Ludogorets, who secured a crucial 2-1 win in Baku despite his early exit.
Tekpetey has been instrumental in the team’s European campaign and domestic league dominance, making his absence a significant loss for the Bulgarian giants.
