Blackstar Experience will target youth empowerment

Rex Owusu Marfo, the Coordinator of the Blackstar Experience at the Office of the President, has outlined some objectives of his secretariat.

Speaking to Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z, Rex Omar (as he is popularly known in music circles), said he will collaborate with various government institutions to achieve the aims of the Blackstar Experience programme.

Among some of the focal points in their strategy is job creation and youth empowerment.

“We will be responsible for strategic vision and framework, in relation to branding and marketing initiatives, collaborative partnerships, investment mobilisation, job creation and youth empowerment, so you see, so long as youth empowerment and job creation come in, we have to liase and collaborate with the ministry of you development and empowerment,” he said.

“So those things that fall under the Ministry of tourism, we will collaborate with the minister and the ministry with its implementing agencies to harmonise to make sure that everything goes on smoothly. We will be responsible in government and leadership so far a the Blackstar Experience is concerned. Brand development and all that.” Rex Omar further noted.

he also indicated that some of the projects that fall under the Blackstar Experience are infrastructural, so they will be responsible in mobilising investment, liase with private investors who will partner the secretariat through Public Private Partnership.

The Black Star Experience’ is the NDC’s flagship Culture, Arts, and Tourism brand to redefine and affirm our Ghanaian identity, attract investments, create new jobs, and increase tourism. It will undertake a year-round celebration in all the major entertainment, artistic, and educational disciplines.
