Bole-Bamboi MP demands probe into alleged brutalities by security personnel

The Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi and Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Alhaji Yusif Sulemana, has formally requested an investigation into reports of misconduct by security personnel enforcing the curfew in his constituency.

In a letter dated September 4, 2025, and directed to the Minister for the Interior, the MP called for a comprehensive inquiry into allegations of excessive force used against residents during curfew hours.

He also urged the issuance of a clear directive to security officers stationed in the area, emphasising the importance of conducting their duties with professionalism and restraint.

These allegations were brought to light by a petition from a local youth group, Arise Bole Youth, who raised concerns over the actions of security forces.

Alhaji Sulemana further stressed the urgency of addressing these issues to safeguard the rights and safety of his constituents.

Currently, the Interior Minister has yet to respond to the request for the probe into the alleged security brutality.
