Burna Boy pledges concert profits to xenophobia victims

Nigerian star Burna Boy, who vowed back in September never to set foot in South Africa until the government “wakes up” to xenophobic violence against other Africans there, has announced plans to perform there this month.

“Part of the proceeds will be donated to the victims of xenophobic attacks by me!,” he said in a tweet. “I really hope we can all keep contributing in our own way to make the world a better and safer place for each other.”

Other stars on the line-up for the “Africa Unite” concert include Jidenna, Kwesta and Busiswa.
