Chelsea’s Hudson-Odoi edges closer to Ghana switch after England snub
Callum Hudson-Odoi is set to make a decision on his international future after another snub by England’s manager for the upcoming games in the Nations League in June.
The 21-year-old English-born Ghanaian has not received a call up to the Three Lions in almost two years and will be eligible to play for Ghana in November.
The next opportunity for him to play for Gareth Southgate’s men will be in September, but from the consistent snubs, it looks like the former England U17 star will switch nationalities.
Hudson-Odoi made a return from injury just before the end of the season and has in the past rejected England U21 invite.
England manager Gareth Southgate named a 27-man squad for the games against Hungary and Germany on June 4 and 7 respectively. They will later play Italy and Hungary in return legs on June 11 and June 14.
Meanwhile, England are set to lose Tariq Lamptey to Ghana after he rejected a U21 invite following contact from the Ghana Football Association.
Lamptey’s switch could prompt Hudson-Odoi’s decision.
