The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, has summoned the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Gold Board, Sammy Gyamfi, after a viral video emerged showing him handing over an undisclosed sum of US dollars to evangelist Patricia Oduro Koranteng, popularly known as Nana Agradaa.
Insiders at Jubilee House have revealed that Mr. Gyamfi has been asked to meet with the Chief of Staff to explain the circumstances surrounding the controversial incident.
The situation has sparked significant public backlash and raised critical questions about the ethical behaviour expected from those in public office.
Some critics argue that Sammy Gyamfi’s action could undermine President John Dramani Mahama’s recently introduced Code of Conduct for Public Officials.
This Code is a key element of the government’s broader efforts against corruption, emphasising integrity, transparency, and accountability in public service.
However, sources close to the Presidency have indicated that the Chief of Staff is approaching the matter with great seriousness, given its potential political ramifications and impact on the administration’s reputation.
