His plan was to reunite talented music duo, Wutah, and do all it takes to get them back to winning ways by signing them onto his record label, NKZ but Hiplife artiste, Guru says he has regretted his decision.
Explaining his disappointment, Guru, born Maradona Yeboah Adjei said, his love for the music industry pushed him into signing Wutah onto his record label but actions by the duo (Afriyie and Wutah Kobby) have compelled him to terminate their contract and sue them.
“We had a three year deal and the first day of the contract something happened that I should have taken a cue not to invest my money but I am a fan of Wutah and for the love of the industry I decided to continue with the contract and after a year we had made progress with ‘bronya’, the song was a hit” he said.
According to him, issues with the duo and the label began after the “bronya” song.
He alleges that Wutah Kobby, a member of the music group became greedy and selfish after the release of the song.
“The song was a hit so we expected to get paid as a record label through the shows that they would play but what he did was to go play the shows and collect the money without giving us our share, sometimes ambassadorial deals and he will keep the money even without giving the other member of the group,” he said.
Guru added, “He thinks I am this small boy who has signed him so he won’t work which is childish; we are going through the procedure to terminate the contract” he said.
Reacting to claims of breach of contract, Kobby Wutah says, he left the NKZ record label because nothing was going on musically at the label.
