President John Mahama has appointed Edward Abambire Bawa, the former Member of Parliament for Bongo, as the new Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL).
Prior to this new role, Mr Bawa was serving as the Acting CEO of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), a position he held since January 17, 2025.
His appointment as GOIL’s Group CEO takes immediate effect.
Mr Bawa brings a wealth of experience to his new position.
He holds a Bachelor of Education in Chemistry from the University of Cape Coast and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Finance from the University of Liverpool.
His career includes notable positions, including serving as the Head of Communication for the World Bank’s oil and gas capacity-building project, further underscoring his expertise in the energy sector.
