Eight players sacked by Manchester United ahead of summer transfer

It is that time of year when clubs across Europe set transfer agenda and control the tabloids with rumours.

English Premiership side, Manchester United are already leveling the grounds for some possible transfers to shape up the squad as the 2021/22 season approaches.

As the transfer cycle of player out for player in sets, the club seems ready for the tussle ahead with some players across all levels at the club already making their way out upon expiration of contracts.

The club announced on their official website, eight players will be released, and those include first-team goalkeepers Joel Pereira and Sergio Romero, as well as six members of the Academy: Jacob Carney, Mark Helm, Iestyn Hughes, Arnau Puigmal, Max Taylor and Aliou Traore.

The ‘Red devils’ went ahead to thank the listed players for their service to the club.

Meanwhile, senior goalkeeper Lee Grant and experienced forward Juan Mata are in discussions over new contracts at United, as well as young stopper Paul Woolston.

Manchester United finished second on the just ended English Premier League with 74 points, 12 points behind champions and city rivals Manchester City.

But unfortunately for the Manchester based club, this adds up the two and half season without a silverware under coach Ole Gunner Solkjear.

The team is already in the news with rumours of some top players joining during the summer transfer.
