Fire guts Accra High School’s computer lab
A fire incident at Accra High School on Sunday, August 17, severely damaged the school’s computer laboratory, destroying most of the electronic equipment housed there.
Although a few computers and tablets were recovered, school authorities say a full assessment of the loss is still underway.
The school is also awaiting a detailed report from the Ghana National Fire Service to determine the cause and full impact of the blaze.
According to Mr. Aikens Kennedy Anarfi Kwapong, Assistant Headmaster in charge of domestic affairs, the school is currently verifying the number of devices saved and identifying the resources needed to restore the lab’s operations.
He added that the school is also in touch with the Ghana Education Service (GES) and will follow its guidance on how and when to resume ICT lessons for students.
