Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi, former Administrative Manager of Asante Kotoko, has been appointed as the first Professional Football Manager of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), effective July 1, 2024.

Dasoberi considers this new role an honor and an exciting challenge, expressing gratitude to the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for his support and guidance.

This is a new role created by CAF and it’s an honour to be the first person to serve in this capacity. Being a professional Football Manager entails a lot and I love the challenge ahead. I pray for the strength and wisdom to be able to execute my tasks,” Dasoberi disclosed.

It’s sad leaving Kotoko but there’s time for everything and hopefully one day I will return to serve again,” he added.

After a competitive selection process with over 100 applicants, CAF chose Dasoberi for his extensive experience in football administration.

His responsibilities will include managing the CAF Club Licensing System, Stadium Licensing, and League Development, as well as contributing to the Professional Football Department’s programs and activities.

He will also review national club licensing regulations submitted by member associations.

Dasoberi brings a wealth of experience, having served as Kotoko’s administrative manager for four years and previously rising through the ranks at the Ghana Football Association, where he became deputy General Secretary.
