Former deputy Sports Minister Vincent Oppong Asamoah unhappy with Otto Addo’s exit
Former deputy Sports Minister Vincent Oppong Asamoah is unhappy with the resignation of Otto Addo as coach of the Black Stars.
The Germany-based trainer relinquished his role as coach of the national after the 2022 World Cup to continue his talent development job at Borussia Dortmund.
According to the Member of Parliament for Dormaa East, the Black Stars would have performed better in the future with Otto Addo in charge.
“Let’s all be honest, our Black Stars started declining long ago, it did not start today.
I was unhappy Otto Addo resigned because I feel he had enough experience and lessons to correct his mistakes and build a better team for us. I am very sure the Black Stars would have done very well going forward with Otto Addo as the coach.
Since we have decided to rely on foreign players for the Black Stars, then we don’t need a local coach.
I will opt for Chris Hughton, I believe he can do the job but should he also fail with the Black Stars, then the problem will be beyond coaching but rather with us as a country”
