Some unidentified assailants have shot and killed a Level 400 student of the Gambaga College of Education in the North East Region.
According to the school authorities, the student, whose identity is yet to be made public, was found dead with gunshot wounds outside the campus fence on the morning of Thursday, March 13.
This has led to the suspension of academic activities in the school for the day.
Although it is unclear what motivated the killing, authorities suggest it could be linked to the violence in Bawku.
Meanwhile, the police and the traditional authorities in Gambaga have launched an investigation into the incident.

This comes after unknown gunmen killed three individuals at Gumyoko, a suburb of the Binduri District in the Upper East Region.
The victims were two men and a woman.
Reports suggested that the assailants entered the residence of the victims on Saturday, March 8, 2025, and opened fire, killing all three on the spot.
Authorities have since launched an investigation into the killings, as it is not clear what triggered it.
Even though calm was restored after the attack, there is a joint team of military and police in the area to protect lives and property.
