GFA host Black Queens after Bronze Medal Winning AFCON Campaign

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has hosted members of Ghana’s National Women’s Football Team, the Black Queens, after the team’s campaign at the 2024 CAF Women’s AFCON.

The Black Queens ended the competition third after beating South Africa on penalties to win the bronze medal and register its best finish at the continental championship since 2016.

The GFA led by President Kurt Okraku and members of the Association’s Executive Council including Frederick Acheampong, Eugene Noble and Mark Addo who doubles as Vice President of the GFA were present at the event.

The Black Queens, according to reports, will visit Ghana President John Dramani Mahama later today.

The Queens returned to Ghana from Morocco after finishing third at the AFCON on Monday, July 28 and have since visited the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum as part of activities to celebrate members of the team.

Grace Asantewaa and captain Portia Boakye were named to the 2024 CAF Women’s AFCON Team of the Tournament.
