GFA, NJC chart player transition and scouting strategy at technical meeting

The Ghana Football Association (GFA), in collaboration with the National Juvenile Committee (NJC), has laid out a coordinated roadmap for player transition and talent scouting across the youth national teams.

At a strategic meeting chaired by NJC Vice Chairman Samuel Anim Addo on May 6, 2025, the leadership of the Technical Directorate, National Teams Department, and coaches of the U15, U16, and U17 teams convened to streamline their processes.

The discussion focused on creating smooth progression pathways for young players, ensuring continuity in development, and eliminating fragmentation between the age categories. Another key area was the adoption of a structured and unified scouting system to identify top talent nationwide.

Technical Director Prof. J.K. Mintah, U15 Coach Yaw Preko, U16 Coach Odartey Lamptey, and Deputy U17 Coach Nana Kweku Agyemang were among the major stakeholders present, along with committee heads from youth football structures.

The plan is expected to culminate in enhanced coordination among technical teams and provide a solid foundation for the growth of juvenile football in Ghana.
