Dr. Paa Kwesi Ndoum, the owner and financial backer of Elmina Sharks Football Club, has criticized the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and called for a comprehensive overhaul of the organization.

He expressed his views in a post on his Facebook page following the tragic death of Francis Yaw Frimpong, a well-known fan of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, who was popularly known as Pooley.

His untimely death occurred at Nana Koramansah Park during a Week 19 match between Nsoatreman FC and Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the 2024-2025 Ghana Premier League.

This violent incident marks yet another low point for the Ghanaian league, which has been struggling with ongoing financial issues, security concerns, and controversies regarding officiating.

“The GFA needs a serious overhaul. A few people at the top feed on FIFA money and leave the clubs, referees and players hungry. What are we waiting for? More deaths, bankruptcies and Black Stars losses?” he posted on his page after the Kotoko-Nsoatreman clashes.

The Ghana Police Service has since made three arrests while the GFA, Kotoko and Nsoatreman have condemned the violence.
