Ghanaian trio in 2020 CAF Youth Team of the Year

The International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) has named three Ghanaian youth players in their CAF U-20 team of the year.

The IFFHS after monitoring the performance of young talents released the continent’s best eleven U-20 players which included Ajax playmaker Kudus Mohammed, Asante Kotoko’s Danlad Ibrahim, and former Ashdod FC left-back Montari Kamaheni.

Kudus Mohammed gave a good account of himself playing for Dutch side Nordjælland FC in 2020, of which his inclusion didn’t come as a surprise.

His incredible performance resulted in a move to Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam on a five-year deal worth nine million euros.

Mohammed scored 12 goals in 25 appearances for Nordsjælland that season.

For Danlad Ibrahim, he was incredibly outstanding for Berekum Chelsea in the cancelled Ghana Premier League season in 2020 emerging as one of the top goalkeepers in the season after the first round.

Not only that, Danlad also emerged as the goalkeeper of the tournament during the U20 WAFU Championship in Benin, guiding Ghana to emerge as winners of the tournament.

Montari, who had an incredible season for Ashdod in the Israeli Ligat ha’AL, popped up in the list for his swashbuckling display for his side.

Following his impressive display for Ashdod, Montari was voted into the Ligat ha’AL Team of the season and as the best U20 left-back in the league.
