Ghana’s 4X100 Relay Team qualifies to World Athletics Championship in Tokyo
Ghana’s Men’s 4×100 Relay Team has successfully qualified to compete in this year’s World Athletics Championship, which will take place in Tokyo, Japan, in September.
The team secured their qualification by finishing second in their heat at the ongoing World Athletics Relays in Guangzhou, China.
In the first of three heats, Team Ghana completed the race in 38.32 seconds, earning a second-place finish.
This qualification came after they had previously failed to advance on Day One of the competition, where they finished third in their heat with a time of 38.49 seconds.
Ibrahim Fuseini ran the anchor leg for Ghana, delivering a remarkable performance that helped secure the team’s second-place finish and, consequently, their spot in the World Championship.
He clocked in at 9.04 seconds but narrowly missed out on first place.
France won the heat with a time of 38.31 seconds.
Just like on Day One, Fuseini was the standout performer on Day Two of the Relays, with his impressive run clinching Ghana’s place at the World Championships.
