Deputy Ranking Member on the Sports and Recreation Committee in Ghana’s Parliament, Michael Kwasi Aidoo, has called for support for Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team ahead of a crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Mali on Monday, September 9 at 19:00 GMT.
Despite leading Group I standings with 16 points from seven games ahead of the game, the Black Stars have come under heavy criticism over enormous expenditure on the team and a poor display in a 1-1 draw against lowly ranked Chad.
In an address before the game, Michael Aidoo, who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Oforikrom Constituency, called for support for the Black Stars.
“Though the last game didn’t go our way, the nation’s belief in you remains unshaken. We draw strength not only from victories but from the courage to rise. I encourage you to give your best in the upcoming match.”

“We stand behind you with pride and hope, confident that brighter moments lie ahead” Michael Aidoo stated.

Ghana is aiming to qualify to the FIFA World Cup for the fifth time.
