Ghanaian para-athlete Zinabu Issah delivered a historic performance at the 2025 World Para Athletics (WPA) Grand Prix in Marrakech, Morocco, claiming gold in the F57 women’s discus throw with a record-breaking throw of 29.25 meters.
The throw not only secured her the top spot on the podium but also marked a significant personal and national milestone, smashing her previous best of 26.66 meters, which she had set at the 2024 edition of the same Grand Prix, where she also won gold.
Before that, she threw 24.39 meters during the qualification event for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, showing remarkable progression year over year.

In 2025, she returned to Marrakech for the WPA Grand Prix and delivered a sensational performance, recording a personal best and national record of 29.25 meters. This new mark shattered her previous best and reaffirmed her status as a top contender in the F57 discus throw category.

Zinabu’s progress is not just personal; it has broader implications for Ghana’s representation in international para-sport. Her latest throw significantly strengthens her case for qualification to major events such as the 2025 WPA World Championships and the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow..
