Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) have asked the Ministry of Communications to allow them to use six to eight weeks to reconfigure their systems to enable them to comply with the directive to halt the upfront deduction of the Communications Service Tax (CST).

The Minister of Communications, Mrs Ursula Owusu Ekuful who made this known at a press briefing in Accra on Monday said failure by the telcos to comply with the directive will attract punitive measures such as the withdrawal of their licences.

She said those who deem the directive as illegal “can challenge it at the proper forum.”
