GOC applauds Team Ghana for 14-Medal Haul at Inaugural African School Games
The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) has commended Team Ghana for their outstanding performance at the just-ended Inaugural African School Games held in Algeria.
Ghana’s contingent secured an impressive total of 14 medals — 2 gold, 2 silver, and 9 bronze — in what the GOC describes as a “remarkable achievement” that reflects the hard work, dedication, and talent of the country’s young athletes.
In a statement issued on August 6, 2025, the GOC extended heartfelt congratulations to the athletes, coaches, team officials, and sporting federations for their contributions to the success.
“This outstanding performance is an attestation to the hard work, dedication, and talent of our young athletes, and we are proud to see them excel on the continental stage,” the statement read.
The GOC also praised the efforts of team leaders and support staff who mentored the athletes and helped shape the next generation of Ghanaian sports stars.
Looking ahead to the African Youth Games and the Youth Olympic Games, the GOC reaffirmed its commitment to grassroots sports development and promised to continue providing platforms for young athletes to shine.
The Committee also expressed its gratitude to the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, the Ministry of Education, and the Ghanaian media for their unwavering support.
“We are confident that this achievement will inspire more young Ghanaians to pursue their sporting dreams,” the GOC added.
Team Ghana’s success in Algeria has been hailed as a promising sign of a bright future for Ghanaian sports on the continental and global stage.
