Ghana’s representatives in the CAF inter-club competitions, Bibiani GoldStars and Asante Kotoko, will receive a substantial $100,000 from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as support fees for qualifying for these prestigious tournaments.

GoldStars, the champions of the Ghana Premier League, will compete in the CAF Champions League, while Asante Kotoko will participate in the CAF Confederation Cup.

During a press conference held by CAF President Patrice Motsepe in Morocco, ahead of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, it was announced that participation fees for the upcoming season would increase from $50,000 to $100,000.

As a result, both GoldStars and Kotoko will receive $100,000 to help them prepare for their respective competitions.

The new season is set to commence in September, with the first round of matches scheduled for the weekend of September 19th to 21st.

The fixtures for this round will be announced in the coming weeks, and clubs are expected to start their preparations immediately.

While GoldStars have yet to resume their pre-season training, Asante Kotoko began their camp last week in preparation for the President’s Cup match against Hearts of Oak this Sunday.

Following this, the Porcupine Warriors will travel to South Africa for the Toyota Cup match against Kaizer Chiefs.
