GPL: Asante Kotoko, Olympics share spoils

League Asante Kotoko were held by Great Olympics to a goalless draw at the Accra Sports Stadium in the matchday 20 fixture of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League on Friday. 

It was a highly competitive game between the top two teams in the ongoing season.

Knowing that a win would restore them to the summit of the league table, Great Olympics looked the most determined side as they kept possession in the first half with some decent moves from Samuel Ashie-Quaye and captain Gladson Awako.

Asante Kotoko, on the other hand,  were playing deep in their own half and relied on the counterattack but that did not result in a goal and hence have been forced to settle for a goalless draw at the end of the 90 minutes.

The result means Great Olympics have managed to pick four points from a possible six from Asante Kotoko in the two-leg meetings in the ongoing campaign, while Kotoko only manages a point from the Dade Boys.

Kotoko maintains their top spot position with 35 points as Olympics stay second with 34 points.
