Haruna Attah writes book about working with Mahama

Ghana’s former Ambassador to Namibia and Botswana, Haruna Attah, has showered praises on former President, John Dramani Mahama, in his yet to be launched book.

The over 300 paged book, is expected to reveal thrilling moments of Mr Attah’s working and personal relations with the former president.

The book will be released before August 31, with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) running mate, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, as the Guest of Honour.

Sharing excerpts of the book ahead of the launch at a short program in Accra on Friday, Mr Attah said that the book “Is a vignette of events. Its a book in two parts, the first part is what I call the homeland briefs and that one talks about our homeland issues.”

“Whether it is dumsor, GITMO-2, Montie-3, our chieftaincy system and the ballot box…it is a collection of so many things. The part two also looks at my experience in diplomacy as High Commissioner of Ghana to Namibia and Botswana.

“You have to read them to see the diaspora engagements, for example, my experience with meeting for the first time in my life a transgender person and how an ostrich nearly cost me my life,” he said in an interview with Accra based Starr FM.

The book also features the former President, Jerry John Rawlings.

Haruna Attah’s book becomes the second book released by NDC personalities and also the second book to be written about a former president.

Former Local Government Minister Prof. Kwamena Ahwoi, released a controversial book ‘Working with Rawlings’ last week.

The book, heavily serialised by the media, has prompted criticisms and praise.

The former president, Jerry Rawlings, has vowed to deal with his one-time close ally over portions of the book that put him in a bad light.
