Hearts to play Kotoko in Super Cup tie as a curtain-raiser for next season

The stage has been set for Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko to lock horns in the curtain raiser match for the 2022/23 football season.

This comes after Hearts of Oak’s MTN FA Cup triumph over Bechem United on Sunday night.

The Phobians today locked horns with the Hunters at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium to battle to become champions of this season’s MTN FA Cup.

On the matchday, Bechem Unite took the lead in the 40th minute when Emmanuel Avornyo equalized with a good strike,

Unable to defend that lead, the Hunters allowed Hearts of Oak to crawl into the game immediately, scoring on the stroke of halftime to draw level before halftime.

Courtesy of a second-half strike from Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, Hearts of Oak cruised to a 2-1 victory in the second half to emerge as champions of this season’s MTN FA Cup.

The win means that Phobians are eligible to play against rivals Asante Kotoko in a curtain raiser match for the 2022/23 football season.
