I am a food lover – Obaapa Christy ventures into food business
Gospel singer Obaapa Christy is the latest owner of a restaurant in Accra with the launch of “Obaapa Essen”.
“It has always been my dream to set up a restaurant because I have a deep love for good food and cooking,” she said.
Explaining the choice of name for her restaurant, the ‘Glory’ hitmaker said ‘Essen’ is a german-word for food and therefore, Obaapa’ Essen’ translates to English as ‘Obaapa food’.
Stressing the importance of eating a wholesome meal with a touch of home, the singer said, Obaapa Essen will serve both local and continental dishes.
Expressing her gratitude to friends, fans, and family who have supported her throughout her music journey, the ‘Ma Enye ye” said, “I want to especially thank my team because it’s a big team effort to have come this far and without them, it will be an almost impossible journey. I want to especially thank my husband for his great support since the inception of this idea. And to all who came to make this memory with me, God Bles’s you”.

The restaurant is located at the Mashama House opposite Fisherman’s House on the Kaneshie – Odokor stretch.
Obaapa Christy is gearing up for 20 years in ministry celebrations with lots of activities coming up to mark the celebrations.
