I took a break from music to redefine my artistic expression – MzVee

Ghanaian songstress, Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda known in showbiz as MzVee has revealed that her absence in the music scene for a year was to redefine her “artistic expression”.

The “Come And See My Mother” hit singer in a press statement announcing her departure from her record label, Lynx Entertainment disclosed that she only went on the “much-deserved break” to re-energize, get in touch with herself and redesign her creative countenance.

The singer was full of praise towards the record label adding that working with them for eight years has been unconditionally enjoyable and “a blessing.

Last year, many questioned the whereabouts of the singer after it was rumoured that she had left Lynx Entertainment because she was pregnant and was getting married.

A few months ago, there were several reports that Mzvee’s inactiveness in the music scene was because she is not happy at her Record label and plans to part ways with them.

Reports indicated that she was planning to leave Lynx Entertainment because all the attention has been given to label mates, Kuami Eugene, KiDi and DopeNation.

But in the press statement disclosing her “end of business” with Lynx Entertainment, she said the label has and will always be a strong pillar in her career, stressing the decision to end the working relationship was mutual.

On their part, Lynx Entertainment also responded that they were proud to have watched MzVee grow into the woman she is now and wishes her the best.

MzVee has three albums to her credit. ‘Ree-Vee-Lation’ which was released in 2014, ‘Verified’ in 2015 and ‘Daavi’ in 2017 with Lynx Entertainment.

The songstress emerged on the music front in 2012 as the lead singer for the Lynx Entertainment girl group D3 after the release of their single “Good Girl Gone Bad”.

In 2013, the young artiste launched her solo career after she said goodbye to her girls.

In June 2015, she earned a spot on the nomination list of BET’s ‘Best International New Artist’ category. She won the ‘Best Female Vocalist of the Year’ at the 2016 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
