The popular American filmmaker and actor Shelton Jackson, known as Spike Lee has shown interest in shooting a movie in Ghana looking at the beautiful sceneries in the country.
The actor who alleged he never knew Ghana has a thriving film industry has opened his alms to all creative arts personalities in Ghana to see how best they can impact each other positively.
Moreover, the American actor has called on the Ghana government to invest in the Ghana Movie Industry to propel it to a new pedestal.
Spike Lee appreciated the fact that the nation has established a film school like National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI) which educates people on theatre roles.
“Beyond having a film school, the government has to support the arts … some think arts is frivolous but the arts are what keep the society going; it speaks to young people,”
“These are what make for a thriving movie industry.
“The movie industry has been a blessing for me … on this God’s earth if you can make a living doing what you love; that’s a blessing,” he said in an interview monitored by The Ghana Report on Asaase radio.
