Multiple award-winning Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie, has disclosed that he wrote the lyrics of the ‘Goodbye’ song, one of his most loved songs, in his mother’s kitchen at Tema.

The song “Goodbye” by Sarkodie, featuring Mugeez, is a track from Sarkodie’s 2012 album Rapperholic and was produced by Kill Beatz and released as one of the album’s singles.

The ‘Adonai’ hitmaker disclosed in a tweet on Monday, June 23, 2025, while replying to a post which had the song playing in the background.

“Wrote this particular song in my mum’s kitchen (Tema),” Sarkodie tweeted in response to a video of a lady jamming to the infectious rhythms and lyrics of the 2019 song.

‘Goodbye’ blends Sarkodie’s rap verses with Mugeez’s smooth vocals, creating an emotional narrative about love, regret, and parting ways.
