The Ministry for the Interior has officially declared Thursday, May 1, 2025, as a statutory public holiday in honour of May Day, also known as Workers’ Day.
This announcement was made in a statement signed by the Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak, on Friday, April 25, 2025.
The public is encouraged to observe the day across the country in line with Ghana’s holiday regulations.
May Day is celebrated worldwide to recognise and appreciate the hard work, dedication, and vital contributions of workers in all sectors of the economy. The day serves as a reminder of the importance of protecting workers’ rights and promoting fair labour practices.
